The 6 th NAFCA will draw affluent audience on September 17, 2016 as the legendary Orpheum Theatre of Los Angeles hosts the 6 th NAFCA and NAFCA Honors. These prestigious awards will draw filmmakers and dignitaries from around the world.
This event titled The NAFCA and nicknamed The African Oscars by the press will attract over 2000 VIP guests from around the world. Presentations of the African NAFCA and The NAFCA Honors hold yearly during the second weekend in September. The African NAFCA is designed to globally promote African Cinema and culture. The prestigious Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards (African NAFCA) are awards of merit and are considered the highest internationally recognized African awards in Hollywood.
About the NAFCA
The Nollywood & African Film Critics’ Awards, commonly known as The African Oscars, are internationally recognized prestigious awards for achievements in the film industry. Winners are awarded the NAFCA Trophies, officially the Award of Merit that is much better known by its nickname NAFCA.
The NAFCA Honors are awards organized given annually to recognize outstanding individuals whose lives have been marked by extraordinary personal and professional accomplishments. The NAFCA Humanitarian award recognizes individuals for their outstanding achievements and contribution to humanity. The NAFCA Special Honors were presented for the first time in 2011 to President Nelson Mandela.
